Sergio Martin, who is head of the Doctors Without Borders mission, worked in war-torn countries such as Congo, Africa and the Middle East for years. He never imagined he would witness so much violence in the areas of Mexico where the U.S. government has been returning tens of thousands of asylum seekers. The new policy by the Trump administration, also known as “Remain in Mexico” program, ensures that tens of thousands of migrants are required to wait in Mexico, either for their court date or to seek asylum for the first time. Mr. Martin states the new policy exposes people to rape, robbery, and kidnapping.
